  1. Without a doubt. Doctors have even told me they prefer Michelle’s over Michael’s.

  2. Just remember that Michael’s get past the staff and speak with docs rather than Michelle’s

  5. its a matter of substance. just because a pretty face got through the door the substance of their character is what’s going to get the business. Is she/he engaging, are they aware and respectful of what is going on in the surroundings or strictly on their own agenda. all of this impacts how far they get. we all get in there and make “friends” but if you are unable to get to business and discuss your products at some time that pretty face that got through the door is useless. this is the challenge when the Doctor ONLY wants to “chat” and not willing to discuss business they have pegged you into a hole. Only the strong ones will have the stones to let them know that they also have a job to do.. if not on that day then next time, but that line of respect should be maintained. once it’s gone, you can kiss it goodbye!

  6. As a “Barbie Doll”, I face both types of reactions. Honestly, female doctors aren’t that warm to me but I usually win them over in time. Same with front office staff. Most male doctors are very accepting of me, although it drives me nuts when they make comments on my looks. One office calls me “Marilyn”. I’ve had to prove I’m not an idiot. Then there is the 1% of doctors who have been straight up dicks. One doctor invited back my counterpart, who is a male, and said, with me stand there, that he “does not talk to the blonde, big-boobed former cheerleaders that drug companies recruit to use sex appeal to sell drugs. I’m glad (my company) wised up and hired a guy.” He then slammed the door in my face.

Bottom line, I have had to prove myself as a valuable source of knowledge for my docs, just like every other rep out there. I don’t date my doctors and I command respect by acting professional….blonde and big boobs and all.
